Before choosing where to do your own TEFL course, you need to know that we do training in five beautiful locations: Koh Samui, Chiangmai, Pattaya, Khon Kaen and Bangkok. Below, we start with Bangkok, and beneath each description of the course location is a map showing you exactly how to find us.
BANGKOK
Our Bangkok-based Academy is located at 1961 Phaholyothin Road (opposite Mayo Hospital), about midway between Don Muang Airport and the center of the city. Phaholyothin Road is the longest road in Thailand, and starts from the Victory Monument in the center of Bangkok and extends northwards all the way to Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand! A map of our Academy's location is given in the SCHOOL MAP PAGE of our web site. (To see where we are in relation to the rest of Bangkok, click here for a Bangkok map showing skytrain departure points.) In Bangkok, there are numerous language schools, public schools, government schools, international schools, and universities, as well as thousands of companies and tens of thousands of homes where trained English teachers are needed and sought after daily. See the Personnel Wanted ads in the classified section of the Bangkok Post newspaper for daily listings: http://www.bangkokpost.net. Excellent affordable accommodations are available to you while doing our course (or after!), and these are listed in our Accommodations page. Training in Bangkok often also offers you the advantage of being approached directly by other schools who are looking for trained teachers. There are always two Bangkok classes going on. (See the Class Start-up Dates page for the Bangkok schedule.)
A word of caution! Ours is the FIRST AND ONLY internationally recognized training course for English teachers of Asian students!! This means that, while our graduate teachers can teach with unique effectiveness to any national group of earth, only our course provides what they need to know to accommodate the long-neglected needs of Asian English learners. There have been many who have tried to construct a course that "looks" like our own, but none have ever been successful in producing one that gets the same results. Therefore, for your own well-being and future, you would be wise to ask any other Thai course provider how long they have been in business. If that is less than five years, just say "No!". Beware how you spend your money, in making such an important “career change” as this one.
If you are already in Bangkok or elsewhere in Thailand, you can contact the Bangkok TEFL Course Director, Mr Leigh Richards, for further information, and also to receive area visa assistance, on 089-823-7049 (e-mail, leigh@langserv.com), or if you'd like to call Leigh from abroad, just dial +6689-823-7049 (66 being the Thailand country code) followed by the above number (keeping in mind the time zone difference between where you are and here). In summary, if you would like to get information or advice directly, or need visa assistance while still abroad (the best time to request it!), Mr Richards is ready and willing to help you by either telephone call of e-mail. Leigh’s e-mail address, again, is leigh@langserv.com. This is a free service provided by our Academy to TEFL class enrollees.
