Note also that in order to maximize both your savings while in training, and your earnings as an EFL/ESL teacher (by qualifying to teach any type of English course and any level of English course to anyone anywhere in the world), you will need to complete both the Certificate Course, if you haven't done so already, and the Advanced Skills TEFL Diploma Program. This is because the chief training focus of any TEFL certificate course is, and must be, on helping students to develop fluent conversational skills.

For the EFL/ESL teaching professional you yourself aspire to become, however, there are many other kinds of courses, and the teaching of these pays teachers much more money than just the conversation classes! These courses include, in part, TOEFL, IELTS and TOEIC, as well as business communications, writing, and, perhaps most importantly of all, TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learners) – all of which, and much more, you will learn comprehensively to achieve in the Diploma Course only. In other words, through our materials and expertise and your dedication to study, you will progress in a maximum learning time of just 20-22 weeks (including 16 Diploma Course hours on Sundays only!) from (oftentimes) zero knowledge about teaching English, to learning teaching skills that normally take others as long as 4-10 years to acquire, if ever! To put it another way, if you're going to do something (teach English), you might as well do it right – by maximizing both your earnings and your usefulness to future students, of all ability levels and objectives.

In the meantime, however, there is nothing wrong with doing the TEFL Certificate Course first, the fees for which follow below, and then waiting for awhile before doing the Certificate Course, though it might be wise then to do the Diploma Course also before you get too busy teaching (on Sundays?) to do it at all. In any case, if you plan on teaching children, you might be wise to choose a 4-week Certificate Course, followed by an 8-week TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learrners) Sunday-only Course, depending on scheduling at your study location. Persons interested in doing the full TEFL Diploma Course: Note that this is conducted on Sundays only for 16 weeks. Minimum number of trainees to start the course, 2. If the course is not conducted, TEFL Diploma Course fees will be refunded in full to the enrollee.

Category One:
Regular fees for our 4-week or 6-week 120-hour Maximum Earnings (M.E.) TEFL Certificate Course.

For persons who have not taken a TEFL Certificate Course previously, £650 (GBP) plus a full set of our Academy's Library of Congress copyrighted course materials at our production and purchase cost of £25, including a total of six Course Modules in five volumes, a grammar reference book, a CD for improving students' pronunciation and listening difficulties, and a convenient carrying bag, and, finally, £15 for course completion documents, all of which totals £690 (GBP) complete. (Note that the 6-week Certificate Course is offered in Bangkok, Pattaya and Khon Kaen; and the 4-week course is offered in Bangkok, Chiangmai and Koh Samui.)

Special Discounts for persons who have taken a TEFL Certificate Course previously or have been teaching:

(Note: There is no discount on course materials or end-of-course documents.)

• A graduate of another certificate course of at least 100 interactive training hours taking an upgrade or refresher course: £485.
  
• A graduate of another certificate course of less than 100 interactive training hours taking an upgrade course: £595.
  
• A previous TEXT-AND-TALK graduate taking a refresher course: £440.
• Training at home: An untrained Teacher with at least 18 months of verifiable EFL or ESL teaching experience: £595. IMPORTANT NOTE: if you enroll to study at home, you must check the box on the enrollment form which designates you as 'SHORT GRAD', that is, 'Graduate of another certificate course of less than 100 interactive training hours'. (If you elect this method of study, you may learn at own pace, but must do all Course Home Comprehension Exams, Module Exams and the Final Exam. You must also do at least 6 hours of observed teaching practice at our Academy upon your arrival in Thailand. Or, if you are abroad, we will help you to do this at a school located near you. If you are located outside of Thailand, you will also need to pay by bank transfer an additional U.S. £75 or equivalent for materials to the Academy account. When the time arrives, we will help you arrange for a school in the country where you are located to facilitate and grade the written Final Exam and teaching practice in accordance with Academy standards.) Regular fees for either our 8-week TEYL Course (Part II of the 80-hour Maximum Earnings (M.E.) TEFL Diploma Course), or our 8-week Adult Advanced Skills Course (Part I of the TEFL Advanced Skills Diploma Course).

All the Diploma Course fees and discount percentages apply, and fees for either of these courses are 1/2 the full Diploma Course amount. (When enrolling online by credit card, just pay 1/2 of the Diploma Course amount, and you will be fully paid up. You will also be given the materials for the other half of your Diploma Course, which you can take at any time, or not at all. When taking the other half of the Diploma Course, just pay the TEFL Services Director 1/2 of the Diploma fees, and nothing for any materials.)

TEFL Certificate Course components and benefits.

Our TEFL Diploma Course is adequately described above, and elsewhere. Our TEFL Certificate Course consists of 120 hours in the training room and 6-8 hours of teaching practice with real students (including critiques, recommendations and a great deal of encouragement by your trainer and other trained and experienced observers), all of which, along with your trainer and your course materials, is to make you thoroughly professional and confident as a teacher. This is why we GUARANTEE that you will get a good job after graduation.

Your end-of-course documents include your course performance evaluation by the trainer, with an English language description of the course for Directors of Study on the reverse side; a separate Thai language course description document for use with Thai school owners and directors whose own English is not very accomplished — and, most important of all, your course completion Certificate, which is full-color with gold embossing, and one which you will want to frame and keep forever. All of these documents are presented to you on your last day of the Certificate Course class, to ensure that you are fully prepared to begin applying for work (if you haven't already obtained work with us!). Likewise, graduates of the Diploma Course receive a Diploma document (also with a course performance evaluation) on the last day of class in that course, which means that full-program graduates will now have both a TEFL Certificate and a TEFL Diploma.

GREAT BENEFIT! Credit towards a 5-Semester BA TEFL Honours Program . A further unique privilege received from doing our Certificate Course is that our course completion Certificate is awarded 40 credits by Middlesex University towards a BA TEFL degree, if you are otherwise qualified – which may be of interest to persons who complete our course but lack a university degree and would like to earn one quickly, as well as to those who wish to further their studies in this field and later complete an MA TEFL degree for career development purposes. (Note that persons studying for the BA TEFL degree under this program must have completed a high school level of education or the equivalent.)
